Attendance in Madison County Schools is free for students who live with a natural parent or legal guardian at a residence in Madison County.

Registration Tips for Parents of New Students to Madison County Public Schools

  • Please contact the school your child will attend to schedule a registration appointment to come to the school with your child so your child will be ready to start when school opens.
  • You need to have with you at the registration appointment your child’s immunization records and your child’s certified birth certificate. If your child has attended schools other than those in our division, have a copy of school records and a copy of the recent IEP if applicable.
  • All students entering grade 6 must show evidence of receiving the Tdap booster (which includes Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) shot prior to entry into school this fall, unless your child has had a tetanus-containing vaccine within the last five years. Please be advised there is no grace period for receiving this shot. Your child will not be allowed to start school if the school does not have record of your child receiving the Tdap booster.
