Assessment and Accountability

The Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability oversees the administration of various standardized measures of student achievement. She coordinates data collection and assists administrators and teachers in the analysis and interpretation of data to improve student achievement. Other responsibilities include: submitting state reports, assisting with program evaluation, and overseeing records retention and disposition. 

Shelby has been employed with Madison County since July 2007. Prior to that she worked in a regional program for students with disabilities as a teacher and as the program coordinator.  She has also been a math teacher at a juvenile detention center, and worked in correctional facilities as a counselor and operations officer. Shelby’s career path reflects her belief that everyone can be successful if they work hard and make good choices.

Shelby lives in Madison with her husband and two daughters.  She spends much of her free time shuttling her daughters to music and sports activities, singing show tunes as she drives.
